For every genuine affiliate marketing program you find online, there are ten others that turn out to be scams. True or false? It’s likely to be false, but I guess it depends on how you define a scam. Nevertheless amongst the great unwashed out there – the punters who don’t have a clue – the perception is that almost everything online is a scam.

Any program with mandatory membership fees may mean it’s a scam, although I can think of loads of business that do it that way, but are definitely not scams. But it is a good idea to give people a free test drive first, or at the very least, a money back guarantee.
Now, let’s look at Wealthy Affiliate. There are two packages available for potential affiliates. There’s the starter package which costs $0 and the premium package which costs $47 per month.
Signing up is completely free. You don’t have to pay anything and yet you get access to a number of training and other resources. That’s how legit affiliate programs usually operate. Once you understand the program, upgrading to premium is recommended but the decision is still completely up to you.
Are the Promises Too Good to be True?
Most often than not, newbie affiliate marketers get sucked in with promises that are too good to be true. We all want instant success and easy money. Unfortunately, that’s not the case in the real world and neither is it in the online arena.

We’ve seen both positive reviews and complaints about Wealthy Affiliate. Some say it’s a scam while those who’ve been successful prove otherwise. At the end of the day, regardless of what others say, your success with Wealthy Affiliate or any other affiliate program is up to you. It’s all a matter of intelligent and efficient hard work.
Is Wealthy Affiliate a Scam?
As a former member of Wealthy Affiliates I can say without any doubt that they are not a scam. No way. Frankly anyone who says that either has another agenda (eg promoting a rival product or service), or plain ignorant and lazy. The world is full of malcontents and low achievers.
Because some people who joined Wealthy Affiliates failed to get a result simply demonstrates that the student did not implement what they learned. Nothing more, nothing less. In short, the Wealthy Affiliate strategies work, and work very well. But it is always the responsibility of the student to apply them consistently over time. When a student takes responsibility for his or her success (rather than seeking to blame others for their under performance), forward movement will happen.
